The 9th Symphony of Peace Prayers is gaining momentum with people on every continent preparing to join in this grand festival of peace, of love, in celebration of the harmony of the faiths.

  

Thru the rich diversity of cultures and ways that we share, we experience something beyond our common perception when gathered around an event we created, there is a feeling of deep connection with others, of being part of something much greater than what we see. We are resonating peace across the globe in a beautiful Symphony.

 In a recent speech, Mrs Saionji, Chairperson of Byakko Shinko Kai and the initiator of Symphony of Peace Prayers,remarked about SOPP, 

" For those of us who have joined in this symphonyof prayers from a wonderful array of faiths and traditions, it has been a deeply moving and even life-changing experience... and we will continue praying and resonating waves of light. In our prayers, we will send the message that the whole world is one.

Prayers for peace focus on world news

Each month, thousands of people gather at Fuji sanctuary to offer their prayers for peace and harmony to prevail on earth and in the world.  But focusing prayers of peace specifically on world news and or a particular event, is also part of the work of the Fuji sanctuary. 

For the past couple of years, specific prayers for the Israel-Palestine conflict have been prayed each day and at montly gatherings.

On April 7th, even though a strong warning was given for a typhoon like storm to hit on that day, a core group of people made it to the sanctuary.

In the middle of the prayers for the nations of the world, the focus was shifted to the troubling conflict between the two Korea, and a specific high energy work was performed with all the people present, guided by Masami Saionji. 

Over the decades, prayers have accumulated at Fuji sanctuary, making it an extraordinary energy space. Carried by these vibrations, people gather there in readiness for planetary service, understanding well the connectedness we each have with the whole and with each other, and the power of prayers. Even when seemingly 'separated' in space and time, these prayers participate to the elevation of global consciousness. 

While keeping unity with the consciousness that pervades the great universe, your consciousness continues to greatly change the world and society. In reality, your consciousness has brought you here. We must keep in mind that our consciousness is synonymous with our reality – that what we think of turns into reality without fail.  

I have explained from a religious perspective that all our emotions are reflected in our lives. Everything we have done eventually returns to us, in accord with the law of cause and effect. In other words, your consciousness is the power of creation. What you think of surely turns into reality. You have created your reality of your own accord for the sake of your own experience.

The Symphony of Peace Prayers celebrated at the United Nations

In celebration of Interfaith Harmony Week, the United Nations hosted a most remarkable event on February 14th in the General Assembly Hall, entitled ' United for a Culture of Peace through Interfaith Harmony.'

The event was inspired by the Symphony of Peace Prayers, with messages of peace from representatives of different countries, peace prayers from a variety of spiritual faiths and traditions, and a world peace flag ceremony to pray for peace in each country on earth. 

 Mrs Masami Saionji, Chairperson of Byakko Shinko Kai and the vision behind the Symphony of Peace Prayers' initiative, delivered a most uplifting and visionary speech to the one thousand people assembled in the General Assembly Hall of the UN. 

In her speech she emphasized the role of prayer and the wonderful opportunity that Symphony of Peace Prayers offers us to gather in peace while celebrating one' faith. 

'Prayer is love. It is light, power, and the energy for regeneration. Prayer helps awaken the path of divinity within each human being. That is why I had the vision to start the Symphony of Peace Prayers, so that each and every human being can unite in prayer to create a grand symphony together.'

She also reminded us that our dualistic mode of thinking which creates separation and conflicts, must be transcended for true peace to prevail. 

'For as long as humanity’s thought remains trapped in struggle, discrimination, and religious confrontation, true peace will never come to this world. If we are to create true peace and harmony on earth, we must move beyond dualistic thinking and elevate our consciousness.'

''The prayers of many faiths that will be offered here at the united Nations shall help us transcend the walls of separation, and bring new inspiration to the global community. I firmly believe that this will be an historic event to open the door to a bright and peaceful future.'

Living in Gratitude

At Byakko, the practice and encouragement of expressing our gratitude to nature and the environment, is at the base of all the teachings.  

In 1999, a wonderful project called 'Gratitude to Nature', that included the writing of Mandalas of Gratitude and 'Foot Prints of Light' (walking in gratitude to the Earth and all of nature), was developed.

They are practical tools to help us anchor this habit in our daily life, to develop a deeper conscious relationship with our daily environment and with the world of nature. The tools are simple, everyone can do! yet they are powerful and transformative.  

In 2000, a specific mudra that accompanies the prayer words of gratitude was taught, enhancing the power of the spoken words. You may browse the byakko.org site for more information on these various practices.

As a reminder of the imporatnce to live with a consciousess of gratitude to the Earth and the world of nature,to help us shift the way we act and live on the Earth, we wish to share this beautiful flyer. As we become more attentive to the world around us, attention should also be given to the way we breathe.  

' When we breathe slowly and deeply we never have any feeling of scarcity. Rather, we feel a sense of richness. We count our blessings and feel grateful for them. From the bottom of our hearts we feel grateful for things we would not even notice if we were taking rapid, shallow breaths. 

The way we breathe depends on our lifestyle and our habits. If we are working quickly and eating quickly, it means we are breathing quickly. Just think about how you breathe when you feel worried, or when you are quarreling with someone. This kind of consciousness goes along with rapid, shallow breathing. As a result, it becomes hard for us to think about the wondrous world of nature and feel grateful for it.'  excerpts from an interview with Masami Saionji

Fuji Sanctuary, December 22nd, live from the Prayer Field

On December 22nd, a live World Peace Prayer Ceremony celebrating every nation on Earth, will be transmitted live from the Prayer Field of the Fuji sanctuary. 

Universal prayers for peace and happiness to prevail in every nation of the world have resonated for decades from this field at the foot of Mt Fuji, and worldwide. 

For the 1st TIME ! in joining with the BIRTH 2012 ! a project calling for the  coming together of millions of people on the winter Solstice December 21st and until December 22nd, in celebration and activation of a new consciousness on Earth,

the ceremonby will be held LIVE with 1000 people, from the prayer field in Japan. 

The time zone in the US is December 21st, 8pm PT
